Sunset Samurai’s third album looks back on the journey they’ve taken, having a conversation with their past selves and the rocky path of life. The design concept is inspired by the experience of getting injured and having a cast put on, symbolizing the struggle and coming back after setbacks. It’s like a life manual for their generation, filled with resilience and hopes for the future.
The visuals draw from memories of youth, blending retro and everyday elements. This ties into the band’s songwriting style, with illustrations showing the interaction between a young student and an adult samurai—symbolizing the dialogue and eventual reconciliation between the past and the present. The packaging mimics the texture of a plaster cast through printing and post-processing, and the long, narrow structure of the booklet turns the album’s packaging into a part of the visual storytelling.
